8th Annual “Good of the Union” Fishing Trip

   

The 8th Annual “Good of the Union” Fishing trip was held August 12th. Capt. Mike and the crew, welcomed Members of DC711 and their Guests aboard The Sea Hawk out of Atlantic Highlands, NJ. For a day of Fishing, Fun, and Brother/Sisterhood, Saying hi to Friends and making new ones within the Trades. Additionally we ask members to make a donation of either dry goods or gift cards to local Grocery stores. This year we collected a couple of Hundred dollars’ worth of donations, that were in turn given to Pastor Thomas Wong of Point Community Church, with 3 congregations in the Brunswick area, where the gifts directly helped some needy folks.

James “Jimmy Nap” Napolitano, age 69, of Berkeley Township passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, August 25, 2017.

Born in Teaneck, Mr. Napolitano lived in Ocean Gate and Forked River before relocating to the Toms River area 6 years ago. He was a veteran having served in the Navy and an accomplished painter for 24 years with Local 694. He was a member of the American Legion and the Harley Owners Group and an avid Giants fan.

He was predeceased by his parents Benjamin and Margaret Napolitano, his son James “Jimmy Jr.” Napolitano and his sister Carmela Vullo. Surviving are his loving wife Cheryl Napolitano; son Nicholas Napolitano; sister Rosetta Oppelt and his large and adoring extended family.

A memorial gathering to celebrate James’s life will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 11AM to 1PM at Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River. Cremation was private. Obituary

Scott E. Giambrone (LU 1009), 47 of Sayreville died Tuesday July 18th at his home.

Born in New Brunswick, Mr. Giambrone lived in Milltown before moving to Sayreville in 2012.

He was the owner of EvenFlo Gutters of Milltown for the past 12 years.

He enjoyed all sports, especially golf and softball, played guitar in a band and was a stand-up comedian.

He was predeceased by his father Robert J. Giambrone in 2010.

Surviving are his wife Renee Conway Giambrone, his daughter Hailey, his mother Bernadette Ruhl Giambrone of Monroe Township, his brother Robert and his wife Janet of Monroe Township, his two sisters Nicole Giambrone of Monroe Township and Bernadette Gross and her husband Ken of Monroe Township and his nephews Alexander and Vincent.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday July 24th at the Lester Memorial Home 16 W. Church St., Jamesburg.

Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Monroe Township.

Visiting hours for family and friends will be Sunday 2-5 p.m. and Monday 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home.
